Teen Sues McDonald's Franchisee Over Sex With Boss

A teenage girl has sued the franchise owner of a McDonald's restaurant following a nearly yearlong sexual relationship she had with a store manager that started when she was 15 years old and he was 22. The teen and her mother allege that Florida-based Haronmar Inc. negligently trained and supervised store manager Hector Figueroa, who faces felony charges of lewd and lascivious battery. The EEOC has launched an educational initiative to help eliminate sexual harassment and discrimination against teenagers.

Former N.Y. High Court Judge Clears Hurdle to Reinstatement as a Lawyer

Sol Wachtler, former chief judge of the New York Court of Appeals, who served 13 months in prison after admitting that he had threatened to kidnap an ex-girlfriend's 14-year-old daughter, has cleared a first hurdle toward reinstatement to the practice of law. A state appellate panel has referred his application for reinstatement to the court's Character and Fitness Committee. Wachtler was on the Court of Appeals for 20 years, seven of them as chief. He resigned in 1992, three days after his arrest.
