TWA Fails to Move Flight 800 Cases to France

TWA's promise to accept liability in French courts for the deaths of 45 French nationals who died in the catastrophic explosion of TWA Flight 800 near Long Island in 1996 is not enough to dismiss their cases on the basis of an inconvenient forum, a federal judge ruled. Judge Robert W. Sweet ruled that several factors favored keeping the actions filed by the families and other beneficiaries of the French victims in New York's Southern District in In Re Air Crash Off Long Island.
