Texas Lawmakers Pass Their own Version of E-Sign Law

A Texan who digitizes his John Hancock on a contract could have more confidence in the enforceability of the contract under a bill passed by both houses of the state Legislature. If the bill passes, Texas will enact a state law for regulating electronic transactions. Legislation passed by Congress and signed into law by former President Bill Clinton legalized electronic signatures last summer.
