In a blistering opinion, a federal judge has ordered sanctions against a lawyer at the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia after finding that she acted unprofessionally and failed to control a client who was abusive and belligerent. Senior U.S. District Judge Charles R. Weiner found that PILCOP attorney Barbara Ransom "acted vexatiously and unreasonably simply by filing this suit in the first place" since it could have been settled without ever going to court.
