NY Bill to Crop Divorce Separation Period Gains Traction
Spouses who have settled all outstanding marital issues and have agreed to separate would be able to get a divorce in New York after three months, rather than the current one year, under a bill with a good chance of passing the state Legislature. The measure would not create a no-fault divorce system.
