Strell, attorneys at Carter Ledyard & Milburn, write: While it is difficult to ascertain from Judge Sotomayor's opinions whether she would bring a particular environmental perspective to the Supreme Court, it is clear that she is not a judicial activist. She has ruled for and against environmental petitioners, has upheld and struck down environmental regulations, and has evidenced a practical perspective. Her decisions show respect for precedent and statutory language, and appear devoid of an ideological (or, dare we say, "empathetic") bent.
