New Orleans attorneys who have landed in the Atlanta area are trying to figure out how to continue practicing law from Georgia. But the problem, explaines Hulett Askew, director of the Georgia Office of Bar Admissions, is that Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama do not have reciprocity agreements with Georgia by which a lawyer licensed in one state can get licensed in the other without taking that state's bar exam. And Georgia's bar has no plans to make exceptions for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
