Pregnancy Discrimination Suits on the Rise

Employment lawyers say pregnancy discrimination lawsuits are on the rise in corporate America, particularly among high-level female executives who claim that they are being knocked off the corporate ladder because of maternity issues. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission spokesman David Grinberg says that even a 31 percent increase in complaints over the last decade does not reflect the true extent of the problem. Many women, he says "view charge-filing and litigation as a 'career killer.'"
