Littler, an employer-side employment and labor law practice, has named Peter Ajalat and Russell McEwan co-office managing shareholders of the firm’s Newark office. Ajalat counsels employers on all aspects of labor-management relations. He has negotiated hundreds of labor contracts, and has extensive experience handling grievances and labor arbitrations, contract administration, union organizing drives, National Labor Relations Board elections, unfair labor practice proceedings, and strikes. He also advises clients in union and non-union settings regarding the drafting and implementation of employee handbooks and personnel policies. Having previously served as general counsel to a large New York City Teamsters Union, and as a former in-house labor counsel to a global company, Ajalat brings unique experiences and dual viewpoints. He regularly represents clients in the waste management, ready-mix concrete, food services, manufacturing and beer distribution industries. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. McEwan’s practice entails representation of clients in federal and state court litigation, before labor arbitrators, at the bargaining table and before regulatory agencies. He counsels employers on strategies to strengthen the employment relationship and minimize the risk of litigation. McEwan also assists clients in developing training tools, crafting effective employment agreements and policies, and training supervisory employees on a wide variety of workplace issues. Additionally, he has extensive experience advising clients on issues related to union organizing drives and petitions. McEwan earned his J.D. from New York Law School, cum laude, and his B.A. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Stark & Stark Promotes Roberts to Partner

Stark & Stark in Lawrenceville has promoted Bryan Roberts to partner. He is a member of the firm’s accident and personal injury group. He concentrates his practice in the areas of wrongful death and catastrophic personal injuries from automobile, truck and motorcycle accidents, as well as construction, product and premises liability claims. As a licensed commercial truck and motorcycle operator, Roberts has unique insight into crashes involving these vehicles. Prior to joining Stark & Stark, Roberts was an associate with a Philadelphia firm, where he defended wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury claims throughout the United States. He received his J.D. from Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law in 2007, and earned his B.A. at Middlebury College in 2004.
