Flaster Greenberg has appointed a new managing shareholder and chief operating officer, Alan H. Zuckerman, effective Jan. 1. Peter R. Spirgel, who has served as managing shareholder since 1999, will step down and become chairman of the firm’s board of directors.

The firm announced the leadership change Tuesday. Spirgel said he told shareholders at the end of 2014 that he planned to step down in the near future, and he announced his plans to step down internally about a year ago. Zuckerman was selected as his successor in the spring, Spirgel said.
