A former Rider University student expelled over allegations of sexual assault has accused the school in a suit of violating his due process rights.

Rider’s disciplinary process was “replete with due process violations” and “unabashedly pro-complainant,” according to the suit by the John Doe plaintiff, who had to leave the school in the middle of his freshman year. Rider failed to adhere to its own methodology for conducting such proceedings, as detailed in university handbooks, says the suit, filed in federal court on Aug. 10.
