Newark is the latest city to find itself in the middle of a battle between Uber and the taxi industry.

Taxi operators are protesting a $10 million deal reached in May between Newark and Uber, which allows the ride-hailing service to continue operating in the city. The suit says the city violates the cab operators’ rights under the Takings and Equal Protection Clauses of the U.S. Constitution and by extensively regulating taxicabs while imposing fewer regulations on Uber.
