A Long Branch woman who had both legs and one hand amputated after developing an infection from a negligently treated kidney stone agreed to a $2 million settlement in her suit, Pereira v. Esposito, on May 2.

Ana Pereira’s settlement with urologist Michael Esposito and his group, New Jersey Center for Prostate Cancer and Urology in Maywood, brings to $18.5 million the total amount recovered in her case. Previous settlements totaling $16.5 million with four other physicians were reported in the Law Journal on Feb. 29.
