The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) honored longtime supporter and lay leader Mark Levenson of West Orange, New Jersey, with its 2014 Torch of Liberty Award for his inspiration and influence to affect positive change in the community, dedication to civil rights and the safety of the Jewish people and Israel. The award was presented at ADL’s annual New Jersey gala celebration, held Dec. 18, 2014, at the Hilton Hotel in Short Hills, New Jersey. Levenson serves as co-chair of the real estate department and chair of the real estate transaction practice group at Sills, Cummis & Gross in Newark. In 2009, he was appointed as chair of the New Jersey-Israel commission by Gov. Chris Christie, and reappointed in 2013 when he accompanied the governor on his first trip to Israel. Lawrence Receives Third State Bar Distinguished Legislative Service Award

Jeralyn L. Lawrence, a partner with Norris McLaughlin & Marcus in Bridgewater, New Jersey, was selected to receive the 2014 New Jersey State Bar Association Distinguished Legislative Service Award for her continuing work on alimony. In 2007, she received this annual award for the first time for her efforts to incorporate irreconcilable differences as grounds for divorce under New Jersey law. She received it for a second time in 2013 for her cumulative and diligent efforts on alimony, as well as open adoption records and electronic monitoring on domestic violence. The Distinguished Legislative Service Award was created by the NJSBA Board of Trustees as the highest recognition available to a member to acknowledge noteworthy legislative service and commitment to the NJSBA’s legislative goals as demonstrated by a member’s willingness to testify before the state Legislature or regulatory body, prepare amendments, and/or contact legislators on behalf of the NJSBA. Lawrence devotes her practice to matrimonial, divorce and family law, and collaborative law. She is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney.
