Illustrated by a period in which four law firm expansions became public in as many weeks, New Jersey’s legal industry was active with mergers, acquisitions, defections and lateral moves in 2014.

The activity started early in the year—LeClairRyan’s Newark branch on Jan. 6 lured 10 litigators from the Florham Park, N.J., office of London-based Clyde & Co.—and continued through late December, when word came that 26-year-old Lomurro Davison Eastman & Muñoz would be splitting into two firms.
