Off-Scenter—A potential class-action lawsuit has been filed in New Jersey federal court against Ewing, N.J.-based Church & Dwight and other household products manufacturers, alleging “unscented” deodorants are anything but.

Melissa Fogarty of Cherry Hill, N.J., the lead plaintiff in the case, accuses Church & Dwight, as well as other named defendants, Proctor & Gamble, Revlon, Dial Corp., and Kao USA, of “negligent misrepresentation” and violating the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act (CFA), as well as breaking consumer protection laws of other states where her fellow class members may have bought deodorant.
