Hertz Corp. is facing its second shareholder class suit in seven months alleging the car rental giant misreported its finances to the detriment of investors.

The putative class action was filed June 13 in federal court in Newark, N.J., on behalf of those who acquired Hertz stock during what the company touted as years of record-breaking earnings—statements later retracted when financial reporting errors were discovered.
