A Middletown man who allegedly injured his ankle on a construction job settled his products liability lawsuit on April 10 for $2.1 million, in Sutton v. Barrier Systems Inc.

On Sept. 20, 2010, William Sutton, then 42, was a heavy equipment mechanic working on a highway resurfacing project on I-295 in Florence. As he was climbing down from a machine used to shift construction barriers from one lane to another, he caught his right foot between the ladder and the pole on the guide wheel used in steering the vehicle, says his lawyer, Frank Wilton, of Middletown.
