Pro Bono Awards for Brew, Montclair Nonprofit


Gerard Brew, shown, a partner with McCarter & English in Newark, received the New Jersey State Bar Association Pro Bono Award for an individual attorney on Feb. 14 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. Brew leads McCarter’s pro bono domestic violence project, supervising in the past year matters that involved a total of nearly 900 hours. In addition, Partners for Women and Justice of Montclair, the nonprofit with which McCarter works on domestic violence cases, received the Pro Bono Award for a law firm, organization or corporate law department.

Hotchkiss Receives Dreier Award From State Bar


Anita Hotchkiss, shown, a partner in the Product Liability Practice Group at Goldberg Segalla in Princeton, received the William A. Dreier Award for Excellence in Product Liability Law from the New Jersey State Bar Association on Feb. 19 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. She received the award in recognition of her more than 35 years defending companies and individuals in state and federal courts.

Archer Participates in Women’s Heart Day


Employees of Archer & Greiner in Haddonfield took part in the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign by wearing red on Feb. 1. The initiative is designed to raise awareness of heart disease. Shown are participating employees.

Newark Boys Choir Serenades Attorneys’ Group

Mount Saint Mary Wins Mock Trial Competition

Students at Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung won the 2013 Vincent Apruzzese Mock Trial Award for Somerset County, going up against students from Hillsborough High School on Jan. 29. The case was argued in front of New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Helen Hoens and Somerset County Superior Court Judge Robert Reed at the Historic Courthouse in Somerville.
