A man claiming to have been paralyzed in a crash on a Bergen County road accepted a $2 million payment from the county on Nov. 27, bringing to $4 million his total recovery.

According to the suit, Griffin v. Zage, James Griffin Jr. was driving north on Breakneck Road in Oakland soon after a rainstorm on Sept. 15, 2006, when he hit a puddle, hydroplaned, lost control and crossed into the southbound lane, colliding head-on with another car.
