The statement police read to DWI arrestees has been revised to include, among other things, a warning that the refusal penalty can include installation of an ignition lock.

The amended statement, in place as of July 1 and released by the Attorney General’s Office to law enforcement officers throughout the state, reflects a new law that took effect in January 2010 and replaces a version that is more than eight years old.
