A teenager from Brick who suffered broken bones and a bladder injury in a car crash accepted $3.15 million on Aug. 29 in her Essex County suit, Cowan v. Cowan.

On May 20, 2005, Kelsy Cowan, then 12, was a passenger in a Jaguar leased and driven by her father, Glenn Cowan. In heavy rain on Mantoloking Road in Brick, the car hydroplaned, veered into oncoming traffic and was broadsided by another car, says Raymond Gill Jr., of Gill & Chamas in Woodbridge, who represents Kelsy and her mother, Susan.
