A girl paralyzed in a boating accident will receive $4.5 million under a settlement approved by a Union County judge in M.O. v. Anderson .

On Aug. 12, 2006, the girl, then 9 years old, was riding with two other people in a tube pulled by a motorboat on Lake Mohawk in Sparta. The tube flipped and the impact with the water injured her spinal cord, says her lawyer, Joseph Peters of Mandelbaum Salsburg Lazris & Discenza in New Brunswick.
