Nichols Kaster is best known for its plaintiff-side employment law work, but the Minneapolis-based firm is also behind a recent mini-wave of lawsuits against banks for allegedly forcing mortgagors into exorbitant flood insurance policies.

The firm has filed five purported class actions in California, New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania since March 2010, including two this month.
