The contested election for the post of State Bar Association secretary, unusual in itself, took on a new novelty this week as one candidate accused the other of an incurable conflict of interest.

In letters to the Law Journal, Ivette Alvarez and Angela White Dalton are grappling over whether Dalton’s past service on the State Bar’s Nominating Committee has given her an unfair advantage in her run for office.
