In a case of a tweet that sounded too much like hawking, the Bergen County sheriff has agreed to remove a link on his department’s website to his personal Twitter page that publicized an election fund-raiser.

Sheriff Leo McGuire entered a consent order on Sept. 10 after his campaign opponent, Michael Saudino, alleged in a suit that use of the social networking site violated campaign law by using taxpayer resources for his own political gain.
