ATTORNEY/CLIENT — FEES

04-3-8267 Sutter v. Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Law Div., Essex Cy. (Bernstein, J.S.C.) (26 pp.) In reviewing plaintiff’s attorneys’ fee award in this class action on behalf of physicians against the insurer, which produced equitable relief but no money damages, the court rejected use of an hourly rate that took into account the firm’s traditional recovery levels for contingency work, but did approve a blended hourly rate plus a 35 percent multiplier for the difficulty of the case and the risk the firm took. [Decided June 16, 2010.]
