And Lawyers No Less — Two of the 44 arrestees in Thursday’s roundup of New Jersey public officials and rabbis for alleged corruption and money-laundering are lawyers: Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano III and Ridgefield Mayor Anthony Suarez.

Suarez, a name partner at Fort Lee’s Dario, Yacker, Suarez & Albert, allegedly accepted $10,000 for his promised help with development projects in Ridgefield. He allegedly put the money into a legal defense fund he set up to fight civil charges by political opponent Michael Mecca that he filed a libel suit he knew was baseless.
