A worker left paralyzed by a construction site accident settled his Essex County suit, Jerez v. Bergen-Essex Contractors, for $2.3 million.

On July 20, 2006, Gustavo Jerez was bracing a prefabricated second-story wall for a condominium under construction in Allamuchy when the ladder on which he was standing slipped. He fell through the opening for the sliding door, fracturing vertebrae at C5-6 and C6-7, says his lawyer, Bloomfield solo Anthony Coviello .
