Apple Inc. is a huge target. The first stock to reach $1 trillion market cap (it now exceeds $2.5 trillion), the seller of one of the first personal computers, and the popularizer of computer mice, a graphical user interface, “apps” and smartphones, Apple has become one of the most innovative, successful and profitable companies in America, if not in the world.

With that large target on its back, Apple regularly provokes griping, sniping and grousing. It has faced innumerable consumer class actions and individual antitrust suits, most of which it has fended off.
