Gov. Phil Murphy recently announced his intention to nominate Jacquelyn A. Suárez to fill the vacancy of the late Lt. Gov. Sheila Y. Oliver at the helm of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA).

Oliver, who unexpectedly died in August, served as DCA commissioner since the beginning of the Murphy administration. Suárez, who currently serves as the DCA’s director of the Division of Local Government Services (DLGS), will taking over as acting commissioner of the department as of Sept. 18, pending confirmation by the Senate, according to a press release.
