A Bergen County Superior Court judge is facing a complaint over videos he posted under an alias on a public TikTok account, at times in chambers and wearing his judicial robes, and using songs containing profanity, graphic sexual references, and racist terminology.

Judge Gary Wilcox, who serves as a judge in the Criminal Division of the Bergen Vicinage, is the subject of a complaint filed June 30. The 40 videos in question, which appeared under the alias “Sal Tortorella,” were posted to TikTok between April 11, 2021, and March 4. The complaint alleged that 11 of Wilcox’s videos included either content, location or physical appearance that was “inappropriate and brought disrepute to the Judiciary,” according to the complaint.
