The estate of a man who died in a 2020 motorcycle accident was paid a $1.5 million settlement on Aug. 23 in a Passaic County wrongful death suit, Estate of McManus v Damiani.

James McManus was riding a motorcycle south on Oldham Road in Wayne on June 28, 2020, when he collided with a northbound vehicle that made a left turn in front of him. The other vehicle was owned by Kirsten Damiani-Heller and operated by Logan Damiani, age 18, who was delivering pizza for Vinnie’s Pizzarama, said Barry Eichen, the lawyer for the estate. Damiani realized he was on the wrong street and was distracted by a GPS device when he made an abrupt U-turn, according to Eichen, of Eichen Crutchlow Zaslow in Edison.
