Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced that the state Division on Civil Rights issued a finding of probable cause against Ironworkers Local 11 over allegations that through its former business manager, Raymond Woodall, the union violated the Law Against Discrimination.

Local 11 is a chapter of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Ironworkers Union, AFL-CIO. The alleged violations included giving preferential job assignments to white members, maintaining a climate that allowed racial slurs, and the retaliation against a Black union member when she objected to the racial slurs, according to a press release.
