Shah has stepped in to defend Monmouth University, Monmouth University Police and several individual defendants in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The suit was filed March 30 in New Jersey District Court by a former graduate student. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan, is 3:22-cv-01782, Reaves v. Monmouth University et al.
