Occidental Petroleum, a Texas-based petroleum company engaged in hydrocarbon exploration, and Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations were hit with an environmental lawsuit Thursday in New Jersey District Court. The suit, filed by Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich on behalf of Cargille Sons and Cargille-Sacher Laboratories Inc., alleges that defendants are strictly liable for the contamination on plaintiffs’ property which arose from an earlier excavation of underground storage tanks. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 2:22-cv-01515, Cargille Sons et al v. Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC et al.
