A federal judge ruled that credit-reporting company MicroBilt can proceed with its breach-of-contract lawsuit against Lloyds of London over the insurer’s alleged failure to timely pay attorney fees in an underlying matter.

U.S. District Judge Freda Wolfson of the District of New Jersey denied Lloyds’ motion to dismiss certain counts of MicroBilt’s complaint, holding that MicroBilt plausibly alleged that the insurance company caused additionally expenses by delaying its payment of MicroBilt’s counsel fees.
