General Motors is seeking to recoup its losses from a director after he pleaded guilty to accepting bribes and kickbacks.

Joseph Ashton, who was also former union vice president, was a participant in two separate schemes to line his pockets at GM’s expense, according to the lawsuit, filed Monday in federal court in Camden. Ashton has pleaded guilty to related criminal charges in connection with the bribes and is scheduled to be sentenced in November.
