A federal judge has dismissed a putative class action against clothing company J. Crew Group Inc. claiming the company issued receipts that were too revealing.

U.S. District Judge William Martini, sitting in Newark, dismissed Kamal v. J. Crew Group for lack of standing on June 6. The lawsuit alleged that J. Crew violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act by including more than five digits of customers’ credit card numbers on receipts.
