The answer, of course, is yes, which is why some attorneys—and the New Jersey State Bar Association—have begun to embrace relaxation techniques, such as meditation and yoga, to handle the vicissitudes of daily life.

They also are getting to know Professor Cynthia O’Connell, a mindfulness and meditation teacher who is a certified yoga instructor and teaches at Monmouth University. O’Connell attended the state bar convention for the past two years, including the convention that wrapped up in May, offering guidance at the Mindfulness Lounge.
