HIS ARTICLE sets forth the evolution of the standards for admission of expert witness testimony applying the decisions in Frye, Daubert, and Kumho Tire. It discusses certain recent federal and New York state decisions in various civil and criminal matters, including accounting and securities fraud cases, and the much publicized opinions determining the admissibility of expert testimony on fingerprint identification.
