On Nov. 26, 2001 the Attorney General of the United States appointed Kenneth R. Feinberg as the Special Master to determine compensation with respect to those injured or killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

On Jan. 7, 2002, Mr. Feinberg was kind enough to grant an interview with Robert Kelner for the purpose of writing this column.
