The New York County Lawyers Association recognized the winners of its 23rd high school essay contest Monday at its headquarters in Manhattan.

From left, retired Bronx Supreme Court Justice Richard Lee Price, chairman of NYCLA’s Law Related Education Committee, joins first-place winner Mersina Ziljkic of William Cullen Bryant High School in Long Island City, second-place winner Andrea Ma of Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, third-place winner Steven Criscola of New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, fourth-place winner Anna Quach of Stuyvesant High School, and NYCLA president Carol Sigmond, a partner at Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman.

Three students from James Madison High School in Brooklyn, and one each from Stuyvesant, John Adams High School in Ozone Park and Hillcrest High School in Jamaica, received honorable mentions.
