A New York appeals court has reinstated former Goldman Sachs programmer Sergey Aleynikov’s conviction for stealing proprietary source code—the latest twist in a long-running legal saga that comes after his previous state and federal convictions were overturned.

A unanimous Appellate Division, First Department, panel ruled Tuesday that legally sufficient evidence was presented at a jury trial in 2015 to support Aleynikov’s conviction of a single count of unlawfully using scientific material.
