Joseph A. Suozzi, a former judge and name partner at the Long Island firm Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein who practiced law for nearly seven decades, died on Sunday. He was 95.

Suozzi was born in a remote southern Italian village called Ruvo del Monte, in the Potenza province. He immigrated to the United States in 1925 with his mother, Rosa Suozzi, to join his father, Michele Suozzi, who had arrived in 1913 and served as an infantryman.
