Faced with complaints from attorneys and a lawsuit related to a lengthy delays in entering judgments, New York County Clerk Milton A. Tingling says he has reduced backlog by using staff on loan from other counties and extra compensatory time for his clerks.

Tingling said that throughout this year, four of the office’s eight judgment clerks retired or were promoted, taking with them a combined 75 years of experience.
