Former New York banker Sean Stewart was found guilty of insider trading Wednesday for sharing confidential merger information with his father, resulting in illegal trades netting more than $1 million.

The jury announced the guilty verdict on all nine criminal counts against Stewart in a 12th-floor courtroom in Lower Manhattan. Stewart was convicted of secretly telling his father about upcoming health care company mergers that he worked on or learned about between 2011 and 2014 while serving as a vice president at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and later as a managing director at Perella Weinberg Partners.
