A judge dismissed a claim in a financial case without prejudice after finding that the attorney filing the action did not meet New York’s requirements for legal practice by nonresident lawyers.

Attorney Barry Goldin contended that he had use of the 240 Madison Ave. offices of a former client when he brought the action in 2014 in Manhattan. But state Supreme Court Justice Shirley Werner Kornreich ruled July 21 that Goldin was not properly licensed in New York.
