During the last hours of his summation, Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Peirce Moser tried to leave a jury with the impression that the arguments presented by lawyers for Dewey & LeBoeuf’s former leaders were the latest in a slew of attempts to deflect blame for the firm’s failure onto others.

Ex-chairman Steven Davis, former executive director Stephen DiCarmine and former chief financial officer Joel Sanders have been accused of lying to banks, investors, auditors and partners about the firm’s financial condition between 2008 and 2012. With the nearly four-month long trial now complete, Acting Supreme Court Justice Robert Stolz read the charges to the jury, which begin deliberating Wednesday afternoon.
