A lawyer for Dewey & LeBoeuf’s former number-two executive argued Wednesday that the prosecution failed to provide any evidence of his client’s involvement in alleged crimes, and made an emotional appeal to jurors to exonerate him.

Austin Campriello, a partner at Bryan Cave, noted that his client, Dewey & LeBoeuf former executive director Stephen DiCarmine, has already irretrievably lost his reputation during the course of the five-month trial. Along with former chairman Steven Davis and ex-chief financial officer Joel Sanders, DiCarmine faces dozens of counts, including grand larceny, fraud and falsifying records.
